At first, Abbie wanted to play, then she wasn't so sure. I wanted her to play. Give a go at my favorite sport. Then she joined Volleyball Club, and she was going to focus on that. Then Chantel and Michelle joined the JV Softball team and wanted Abbie to play, too. OK, OK. I took her out to the batting cages 2 weekends in a row. She can hit the ball at regular speed, the fast pitch cages were not opened. She got into the baseball cage and was able to hit a few there. Alrighty, she's feeling good about it. She joins the team. Made it to 1 practice before her first game. She played an inning in right field. Not too much going on there. Struck out at bat, but Pasco's pitcher was FAST. Whew. At least she swung at the good ones, and let the balls be balls. Nice start.

| Abbie at bat. WCHS vs. Sunlake |
Second game was against Sunlake. She started, left field. Again not much action in the outfield. She only got up to bat 1 time (they put an hour and half time limit on the game). She hit the ball, but was thrown out. Progress.

The bottom of the 2nd, score was 23-1 (ouch). They pulled the pitcher, and yes, they put Abbie in to pitch. Yikes! Never played before, let alone pitch. Hmph. I have to give her credit. She went out there and finished the game. Final score 28-1. Game stopped after 2nd inning, due to time. Ouch.

Besides, what kid doesn't love going to the field? Those are some of my favorite memories from my childhood
We went to the park last night and I let her pitch to me. Try to get the hang of it. Of course, its not fast pitch yet. But maybe we'll get there. She'll be practicing with Grampa Bill this weekend. If anyone can giver her some pointers, it will be him.
She likes the game. I am happy with that.
