So Special

On Tuesday this week, I experienced something so amazing...The Special Olympics!
The county-wide event was held at Wesley Chapel High School and they asked middle school parents to help fill in some volunteer positions.
This was my first ever Special Olympics, and I cannot tell you how meaningful this day was to me. I was in awe the entire time. To see such happy faces everywhere I turned just melted my heart. It was just pure bliss, and I hope to be able to dedicate my time again next year!

End of the season

Soccer Season, that is.

Tonight was Abbie's last soccer game for school. So far this year, she's played volleyball, basketball and soccer. Next up...track and field. All the while she keeps up her grades... all A's and a B last grading period! How amazing is that? She's a great kid (when she's not talking back!).
The team's stats (0-8) do not display the girls' effort. They got out there each and every game and gave it all they got. They played hard, got dirty, took some spills, gained a few injuries, and when it was all said and done they acted like ladies. They are definately winners in the good sportsmanship category!

I have never really been an "open" person. I usually keep to myself. Try to steer away from the limelight if at all possible. So this blogging thing will be quite strange for me. Express myself through words...hmmm. Never was a writer. Love reading, but story-telling is something I haven't ever been great at. I know blogging is nothing new...I just never got into it, and tonight I realized time flies and memories fade and I want to be able to look back on these days and relive the good ones. I need to remember how hard some times were. I want to know that we grow and as we do so does our love. Everyday.
I'm not here to tell a story. Only here to record the day-to-days of our simple life. Our simple, happy life :-)
