Run Abbie, Run...

Track and Field started this week for Middle School.
The first meet was Tuesday night.
Abbie competed in 4 events -

 The High Jump

The Long Jump

Hurdles

and the 400 meter run.

She did well in all. She has another meet tonight and I'm sure she'll do even better. She should be in all the same events, except Coach is switching her to the 200m, instead of the 400m. (she lead the first half and ran outta gas on the 3rd corner)

I love watching her compete! And so do a couple of her littlest, biggest fans! ♥

Tricked ya!

OK..OK...so I wasn't completely honest about being over the car shopping. But, I really am done now! We finally found and bought a car. It feels so good to know I don't have to waste another minute looking through newsaper and internet ads. Not a penny more will be spent driving dealer to dealer only to find junk or cars listed way too high and dealers not willing to negotiate. Finally, I'm done.
Fits us all, will tow a ton (give or take a few pounds ;-) , and Abbie and Shawnie will no longer be subjected to the torment of being dropped off at school in a minivan. (What? Really? Isn't it better than walking? NO! Apparently not to them. *Rolleyes* Teens and tweens. ergh.)

I am done car shopping!

No, I still haven't found one. I am giving up on it for now. There is nothing out there that's in decent condition for under $30k. It's so depressing. We spent 12 hours today doing nothing beut looking at vehicle after vehicle. And I'm just over it now. I don't want to waste another minute on it.
It's past 11pm and Abbie and I are venturing out to purchase New Moon on DVD. That will be fun!

Corned Beef, Cabbage and Leprachauns.. Oh My!

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!

I cannot believe it...not one single picture of this green day in my files. I have no idea why. I must have one somewhere.
I did I find a short person, with a green haton, chomping on some red meat. That will have to do for now. I am tired. I was running around all day in search of a new car. (no, we didn't find that perfect one yet :-( ) And I am still a little sore from yesterday's dentist visit. Plus I started my meds today for my second surrogacy journey, hormones galore! Aren't my husband and kids lucky? I did, however have time to cook up the famous Irish dinner...corned beef, cabbage, potatoes and carrots. Yum!!!

Night, ya'll!

I'm a big girl now!

Fact: I am terribly afraid of the dentist. Yup, it's true. I fear the man in the white coat.It all stems back to a miserable experience in my teens. Since then I RARELY went to the dentist. If I went, it was only because I was in an unbearable amount of pain.
Last week I had a moment and said "Enough is enough, Ann. Grow up and face your demon." I made an appointment, all on my own to be seen the very next day. I was sick the rest of the night. Nevertheless, I kept that appointment and went to the dentist. I knew I had a tooth that needed to be extracted, but other than that I had no idea what he was going to tell me, I envisioned him telling me I was about to loose all my teeth because I had neglected my mouth for so very long. Luckily for me, that wasn't the case. I did in fact need to have that tooth pulled. And guess what....Today I had it done. I put on my girl pants (hardly, though) and had the darn thing yanked out and the prep work for the bridge done. Mark took the day off to support me, and Thank God he did... I would not have gone had he not driven me there. I didn't sleep last night because I was so anxious and this morning, well to say I was raving lunatic would be putting it lightly. He waited the entire 3 hours, drove me to get my scripts after, and took care of the kids and dinner tonight. Don't know what I would have done without him! I ♥ you, Markie Poo! So to keep with the theme of toothlessness...here's a picture of Gracie immediately after she lost her 2nd tooth. And for the record, Daddy pulls the teeth in the house. The sight of a tooth dangling in their mouth makes me sick. Uck!

great grandparents and a cousin

This is Blake, Grandma Irene and Grampa Al (my maternal grandparents) cousin Jack (my older sister, Michelle's son) and Gracie. The picture was taken Thanksgiving '09. Michelle, her hubby Brandon, Jack, and the newest additions Olivia and Kate (7mos old twins) came down from Louisville, KY to visit. That was a fun week!

Happy Birthday Emma!

A year ago today, I was frantically trying to get a flight from North Dakota to Florida. I had to get down to see my baby sister who had delivered her daughter at 24 weeks 5 days gestation. Precious Emma came into this world weighing a mere 15 ounces, that's right - not even a full pound. She was just 10 1/2 inches long, no taller than a bottle of water. I jumped on the first flight out the next morning, and got down by noon  that day. Straight to the hospital I went. To see a baby that small, there are just no words to describe it. You just cannot believe something so tiny can live and breathe and be so breathtakingly beautiful.

Tonight we celebrated with our little miss Emma Bean.

A year old already! She's a miracle.

She can have her cake and eat it, too!

We love you, Emma Bean!

big smiles

When I opened my email and saw these two smiling faces stare at me through the screen, the tears came flowing down my face. (Tears of joy, of course!) I am thrilled to share with you picture #3.

Life is good!

A photo a day...

Here's another goal for me...

post at least one picture everyday. I have so many pictures sitting in the hard drive and as I look through them, I thought to myself I should really share these. So there it is. Hope you enjoy.

My first picture is of me and my handsome hunny. ♥ It was taken in late January 2010 at none other than Fort Wilderness in Disney World. This will be a rarity...pictures of the two of us together are hard to come by.

TGIF

YAY!!! We successfully made it through another week! What happened that's noteworthy...Ah yes,
Abbie and Shawnie were both invited to join the National Junior Honor Society and Gracie and Blake both received Outstanding Owl Awards (Gracie for great classroom behavior and Blake for helping Coach Wolfe pick up PE
gear without being asked)!
My kids are simply amazing and I could not be a more proud Momma!

Today we got word that Olivia, my 7 month old niece (and Kate's twin sissy), has fluid build up around her ears and will most likely get tubes. She has some minor hearing loss, but it should return with the tubes. She'll be the first of the kids to have tubes, poor baby.... We love you Liv!
