The kids are already back in school! I can't believe it...they just finished their second full week. Everyone is happy with their teachers/schedules.
Abbie is in High School and adjusting well. She made the JV Volleyball team, plans on running for Student Government, will tryout for Soccer in the winter, and is going to give Softball a swing as well. As long as her grades stay up, we will allow her to have a full schedule and encourage her to join clubs and try new sports.
Shawnie is in a school without siblings for the first time ever. I think he likes not constantly being referred to as "Abbie's little brother", even though he has acquired some of her favorite teachers from last year. He is still taking MMA classes each night, and loves it. He has his first testing in a couple weeks for his yellow belt. He is beyond excited.
Gracie and Blake were thrilled to be in the same pod this year, even though Gracie is in 3rd and Blake is in 2nd grade. Their classes are just across the hall from each other so they see one another throughout the day. I happen to love this, too. Pods do many of the same things thoughout the year. Field trips, special projects, and parties to name a few. With the two of them together it will make juggling those special events a bit easier!Blake is hoping to start Boy Scouts this year. The thought of joining his friends in the "fun" stuff" they do just thrills him. We went to a registration meeting and are waiting on some more specific info regarding weekly meetings. Gracie will probably join Girl Scouts as well. We haven't seen anything on a girls pack, yet.
Another school year started. 4 kids, 3 different schools, countless extra curricular activities. Dad is commuting, Mom is a taxi, Dexter loves the peace and quiet during the day. Sometimes I feel like our life is crazy. I still love it, though!
